The country has been in shock over the brutal torture and kidnapping of a mentally disabled man in Chicago. Social media has been on fire with people sharing their thoughts and frustration over such a senseless act of brutality. Now Montel Williams has weighed in on this terrible crime, and what he had to said has made waves across the internet.
Williams has in the past typically taken a more liberal stance over the course of the last few years. However, it seems that in this post Williams is was able to see that this was a crime and not an activist move as he has claimed in the past. In this post Williams says that these people need life in prison and he does not care if their parents loved them or not.
Here is the post.
Williams is absolutely correct with his assessment of this crime. This goes way beyond a hate crime and racism. These animals showed not one ounce of regard for another human life and that in itself is troubling.
The suspects were identified as Brittany Covington, Tesfaye Cooper and Jordan Hill, who are all 18-years old, and the fourth suspect was identified as Covington’s 24-year-old sister, Tanishia Covington. Thankfully, bail was denied and a hate crime charge was also included.
I’m glad that so many who at first supported a lot of the radical actions from the left are coming around in the wake of this tragedy. This attack should never have happened, but I’m sure the victim, Austin, would be happy to know that maybe something good could come from this that would bring our country back together again.
It’s time to stand as one and say enough is enough!!!
