Two police officers accidentally showed up to a wrong address while on a call. However, as soon as the door was opened, the pair of police officers noticed something hanging from the Christmas tree through the opened door that they could not ignore. They knew that they had a to take a closer look and what they found left them stunned.
After making an unusual discovery at a wrong address, an anonymous police officer from Ohio had to share what they had seen. After taking a couple of photos, one of the officers wrote a short description of the events leading up to the discovery and sent it anonymously to the Facebook page Ohio Going Blue.
The owner of the house immediately confessed to the officers exactly what they had intentionally hung from the tree. Most people miss the decorations, but upon a closer inspection the officers noticed that there was a tribute to every officer, both human and canine that had died in the line of duty this year.
Attached to the photos of the shimmering blue Christmas tree that was sent to the police appreciation Facebook page was a note from an anonymous source:
Over the past year there has been a nationwide assault on police officers by the BlackLivesMatter group and their supporters. There has never been a time in American history when police officers have seen such disrespect and hate directed towards them. This negative sentiment has made it extremely difficult to do their jobs.
It is tributes like this that are a nice reminder for our police officers that there are people who appreciate their sacrifices. The number of ornaments on the tree are a testament to the fact that officers often give ultimate sacrifice to protect the people of the communities in which they serve. Let us pray this holiday season that there will not be anymore bulbs placed on this “Tree of Honor” as respect for law enforcement is restored under a Trump presidency.
