A YouTuber claims to have conducted a ‘social experiment” by leaving a car with Trump stickers on it in a black neighborhood only to have the vehicle destroyed. Luckily for us, he recorded the entire thing.
Joey Salads, famous on YouTube for his prank videos, posted the clip last Monday night and it immediately went viral receiving more than 340,000 views.
The video begins with Salads explaining that “a lot of black people don’t like Trump”. He goes on to explain that he got a car, covered it with Trump paraphernalia and then “parked it in a black neighborhood” to see what happens.
Other YouTubers who have significant followings on the site have alleged that his videos are staged, although Salads denies those claims and says that his videos are completely genuine. In this video, Salads does not explain where he has left the car, what the neighborhood is called or what demographics make it a “black” neighborhood.
After Salads explains the experiment, a title screen states that after only 30 minutes people in the neighborhood begin to approach the car.
Towards the end of the video, Salads says, “After filming I talked to some of the spectators who are black, who said that they did low-key support Trump, but they were afraid of the backlash from their community.”
On his Facebook page, some people have posted that they believe the video is fake, while others believe it is genuine.
“I don’t know how people believe this is legit Joey stop faking pranks bro and making a fool of these people,” Jakov Gardijan wrote.
Alex Saucedo wrote, “Perhaps you could do better when you fake your videos. I also think you should look up ‘social experiments’ on wikipedia, before you start claiming that this is an experiment.”
Bonnie Lou Rodriguez thinks that people would’ve had the same reaction to a Hillary Clinton car. She says, “They would have done it with Hillary on it too. People are angry.”
