The holidays can be hard for military families while they are separated from their loved ones. Some are lucky to come home and spend precious time with their families and receive a warm reception. However, over the last eight years under the Obama administration, our military men and women have been treated terribly.
Obama and his minions have done everything they can to divide the country and create hate towards those who volunteer to serve and protect the public. That sadly was demonstrated over this Christmas holiday when a 19-year-old Army serviceman was brutally attacked while attending a Philadephia parade.
Lori Freni was supposed to see her son Austin head back to his base after the holidays, but now she sits at his bedside. Freni says that while leaving the Mummers Parade festivities on Sunday he was jumped by a group of 10-15 thugs after seeing Austin in his Army jacket.
Freni explained that guys started making derogatory comments towards her son’s jacket when one of the men struck Austin.
“Me and his girlfriend tried pulling them off and they hit us. We got hit in the face. She got thrown in the street,” his mom explained. “He’s got to get plates put in his jaw and his mouth will be wired shut for the next eight weeks.”
Now Austin is recovering from his severe injuries at Jefferson University Hosptial in Philadephia, and his mother is left wondering how why this happened. “He’s such a good kid. He did not deserve this.” Freni said about her son.
What I find incredibly disheartening about this is that no one jumped in to help this young man and his family. This soldier may not have the severe injuries that he now has if others would step in and help. It seems that we have become a society that does not want to intervene anymore in fear of being sued or even worse.
This young man did not deserve this to happen to him and I pray and hope that he recovers quickly.
I wonder if Obama is pleased with himself now?
