Earlier this week Barack Obama stabbed Israel in the back again when he refused to vote on a security council resolution condemning settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Essentially, what Obama did was give control to Palestinian groups over the old city and its sacred artifacts.
Israelis and conservatives have been furious over Obama’s disgusting behavior and rightfully so. Now Senator Ted Cruz is launching a movement to defund the United Nations and his blistering remarks for Obama and John Kerry have liberals ticked off.
According to Conservative Tribune:
Sen. Ted Cruz, the one-time Republican presidential challenger and a staunch defender of Israel, was one of the most angry voices in Washington. In a scathing statement, the Texas Republican rebuked the Obama administration and called on the incoming Trump administration to defund the United Nations for its actions against Israel.
“For eight long years, the Obama administration has worked systematically to undermine the nation of Israel,” Cruz wrote. “They actively worked to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu, and illegally used U.S. taxpayer funds to do so. Never has there been a more anti-Israel administration, and today’s United Nations vote is the culmination of their systemic agenda to weaken Israel and strengthen its enemies.”
Cruz proposed several ways to meliorate the damage caused by the resolution, including completely revoking American funds from the United Nations.
“I also emphatically second the call of my colleague Sen. Lindsey Graham that the consequences of this disgraceful U.N. resolution should be severe,” Cruz wrote.
Cruz also went on to write this to Barack Obama, John Kerry, and Ambassador Powers, “And for those who acquiesced or facilitated the U.N. resolution — especially President Obama, Secretary Kerry, and Ambassador Power — history will record your abiding and shameful legacy undermining our friend and ally Israel,”
Shortly after Cruz wrote his scathing letter, Congress made a move of their own to cut funding to the United Nations. Additionally, lawmakers will also rebuff any further attempts from the Obama administration to admonish Israel on an international scale.
It seems that Obama is attempting to provoke more aggression from those in the middle east. If he can create enough animosity and an attack was to take place on American soil he could then blame it on Donald Trump once he was in office.
I just hope that Congress can rebuff Obama and his administration long enough til Trump gets into office and possibly can fix this entire mess.
