The head of PepsiCo said on Thursday that her employees are in tears over Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election, and that people were asking if they’ll be safe.
After defeating Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, the President-elect Donald Trump called for unity, but PepsiCo CEO and chairperson Indra Nooyi has instead chosen to stir the pot. Nooyi, a supporter of Democrat Hillary Clinton, said she has answered many questions since Wednesday, but her comments at the New York Times DealBook Conference in Manhattan has left many Trump supporters taking their business elsewhere
“I had to answer a lot of questions, from my daughters, from my employees, they were all in mourning,” Nooyi said at the conference. “Our employees are all crying, and the question that they are asking, especially those that are not white: ‘Are we safe?’ Women are asking, ‘Are we safe?’ LGBT people are asking, ‘Are we safe?’ I never thought I’d have had to answer those questions.”
Right after Trump won, she immediately began attacking him with the same corporate media talking points. She said that she was disgusted more by the language that had been used to discuss women in recent months.
“Forget about the Pepsi brand. How do you talk about women that way?” Nooyi said, referencing Trump’s 2005 sexually aggressive comments that were made public last October. “If we don’t nip this in the bud it is going to be a lethal force in society.”
At least Nooyi did have the courtesy to remind her employees, who reportedly broke into tears over Trump’s election, that the world was not about to end.
“The first thing that we all have to do is to assure everyone living in the United States that you are safe,” she said. “Nothing has changed as a result of this election. The process of democracy has happened. We just have to let life go on.”
While she didn’t say anything outright insulting towards Donald Trump, his supporters have heard enough of her tone and underlying sentiment. A boycott is currently being organized against all of the PepsiCo brands and the company’s numbers will sink much like other businesses who have had an anti-Trump stance.

It will be a great time to watch this large corporation lose millions of dollars. Considering their products are laced with chemicals and sugar, it could actually be a good thing if they disappeared altogether.
