Obama Gives Our Soldiers Nasty Final Surprise Before Leaving Office

We’ve all witnessed the abominable treatment of our military men and women under Obama. After returning home from war physically and mentally broken, many of our heroes are then given the run around by Obama’s VA, literally dying while they wait for medical treatment. But it looks like Obama has one more nasty surprise for our Soldiers before he leaves office that’s speaking volumes about what this president thinks of their personal sacrifice.

When you raise your right hand and take an oath to defend your country, that promise isn’t taken lightly. Many of us know the harsh reality that when you sign your name on that dotted line, you are literally risking your life to fulfill your end of that contract to the government. In exchange, the government has an obligation to hold up their end of the deal, in the form of a salary, benefits, and bonuses, depending on what’s specifically written into your contract.

But for National Guard Soldiers in California, they’re learning the harsh reality that when it comes time to fulfilling that contractual obligation it’s just a one way street, and Obama’s greedy government can go back on that promise and do whatever the hell they damn well please.

soldiersAfter paying out thousands in bonuses to California National Guard Soldiers to reenlist almost a decade ago, the Pentagon is now demanding that the Soldiers pay back the cash. The bonuses came during the Afghanistan and Iraqi war, when the Pentagon was facing a shortage of troops and scrambling to get people to sign up. But due to the government’s inability to balance a damn budget and “financial oversight at the time,” they are suddenly short on cash and reaching straight into the pockets of these heroes to make up for the deficit.

Even more disturbing is that Obama’s government isn’t just kindly asking for the money back. They’re taking it straight out of these Soldiers’ accounts in the form of wage garnishments, interest payments, and tax liens. Many of these Soldiers expressed their frustration and how this has put a huge financial burden on their families, as Obama’s Pentagon continues to rip the money straight out of their accounts.

“I signed a contract that I literally risked my life to fulfill,” Army Sgt. 1st Class Robert Richmond told the Times. “We want somebody in the government, anybody, to say this is wrong and we’ll stop going after this money.”

So far, our greedy government has stolen back $22 million from these Soldiers. The California Guard trying to fight the thievery, by working to help their troops file appeals with the Army Board for Correction of Military Records and the National Guard Bureau, which will probably prove to be in vain.

“At the end of the day, the soldiers ended up paying the largest price,” Maj. Gen. Matthew Beevers, deputy commander of the California Guard said in an interview. “We’d be more than happy to absolve these people of their debts. We just can’t do it. We’d be breaking the law,” he said.

This is beyond disgusting. Had any of these Soldiers at any point in time decided to not fulfill their end of their contractual obligation to the United States government, they’d be sitting in Fort Leavenworth right now. But when our greedy government can’t get their heads out of their asses and balance a budget, that’s suddenly these Soldiers’ problem? We are truly living in an ass-backwards country when the most brave and courageous among us who willingly give their all for their country are the ones who reap the smallest in return.

This is beyond disgusting, but is not surprising. I didn’t get my $7,000 bonus for my try-one to prep my unit for deployment and the government told me I needed to pay back the drill pay I received because the paperwork wasn’t submitted correctly a year after my ETS (after the try-one). Thankfully, it was cleared up and I didn’t have to pay back the drill pay, but I still never got the bonus.

Youre beyond naive if you think Obama gives a damn about that petition..
