There has been another leak recently that includes top Democrat officials personal contact information. Among those released was the cell-phone number of Nancy Pelosi, a House Minority leader.
Nancy Pelosi said on Saturday that she has been barraged with “obscene and sick” calls since a hacker known as Guccifer 2.0 released information obtained from hacking the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee. Within the Excel spreadsheet was contact information for 194 officials and their closest assistants.
In a letter to colleagues, Pelosi said that she is changing her phone number and urging them to do the same. “On a personal note, I was in the air flying from Florida to California when the news broke. Upon landing, I have received scores of mostly obscene and sick calls, voicemails and text messages,” the Minority House leader warned to not let children or other family members see the messages due to the obscene content.
In the letter, Pelosi suggested that the leak is believed to be a result of Russian cyber attack. She said the Capitol Police and the House sergeant-at-arms are also conducting an ongoing threat assessment.
“As reported, the DCCC has hired a respected cybersecurity technology firm to conduct a full investigation of the breach,” Pelosi said. “This is a sad course of events, not only for us, but more importantly for our country.”
The public’s response to the news on social media has been interesting to say the least. It seems that most people agree; Pelosi is getting her “just deserts”.

Since the hack, DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Lujan has arranged an urgent meeting for Democratic House members on Saturday evening to receive an update from the cybersecurity experts who have been investigating and responding to the data breach. It is reported that the FBI is also investigating the attack.
