Barack Obama’s Kenyan half-brother says he wants to make America great again and says that he is officially going to vote for Donald Trump. Malik Obama, 58, has been a longtime Democrat, but says he is switching his allegiance to “the party of Lincoln.” “I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart,” Malik Obama told The Post from his home in the rural village of Kogelo. “Make America Great Again is a great slogan. I would like to meet him.”
Malik Obama says that the last straw for him was earlier this month when FBI Director James Comey said he would not prosecute Hillary Clinton over her use of private e-mail servers while serving as secretary of state. “She should have known better as the custodian of classified information,” Malik said.
Obama’s brother is still annoyed that Clinton and President Obama killed the Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy, saying that he was one of his closest friends. “I still feel that getting rid of Khadafy didn’t make things any better in Libya,” he said. “My brother and the secretary of state disappointed me in that regard.”
Malik Obama says he is strongly against same-sex marriage, which is another reason he is switching political parties. “I feel like a Republican now because they don’t stand for same-sex marriage, and that appeals to me,” he said. Obama plans to take a trip back to the US to vote for Trump in November. He used to live in Maryland, where he lived for many years and is an accountant who is registered to vote in that state.
