It is now being reported that 2 suicide bombers blew themselves up, which was the explosion that was reported by eye witnesses.
TURKEY — At least two explosions struck the Istanbul Atatürk Airport on Tuesday.
At least 40 people were reportedly injured.
A hail of gunfire was also reported by witnesses.
Turkish officials told Reuters that two suspects detonated explosives before passing x-ray security check.
Police fired shots to neutralize the suspects at the international terminal entry point, the official told the news agency.
