Army Captain Wins Miss USA Pageant, Sets Internet ON FIRE With Answer About Women in Combat

Miss District of Columbia, Deshauna Barber, is an Army Captain and commander of a Reserve unit in Fort Meade, Maryland. When she got to the final question at the Miss USA pageant, she was asked her opinion about women in combat, and she absolutely nailed the question.

“The Pentagon recently made the decision to open up all combat jobs to women. Some have questioned whether this has put political correctness over our military’s ability to perform at the highest level. What are your thoughts?”

Barber answered the way you’d expect a warrior to respond, and awed the judges so much, she wound up winning the Miss USA title.

“As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military. We are just as tough as men. As a commander of my unit, I am powerful, I am dedicated…”
